The name of this organization shall be the Nevada Bow Hunters Association, abbreviated

as N.B.H.A. and shall be recognized as the Nevada State Archery Association, as affiliated

with the National Field Archery Association.

1. To foster, expand and perpetuate the practice of Field Archery throughout the State

of Nevada;

2. To foster and perpetuate a spirit of good fellowship among all archers within the

state;

3. To encourage the use of the bow in hunting of all game and to protect, improve, and

increase the privileges of bow hunters;

4. To cooperate with the Federal and State Governments, sportsmen, and

conservationists in the propagation and conservation of game in its natural habitat;

5. To conduct a continuous educational program designed to acquaint the public with

the bow and its uses as a practical and humane weapon, suitable under proper

regulations for the hunting of all game animals and birds on the American Continent;

6. To cooperate with all existing or future archery organizations, either target or field, in

fostering or perpetuating the use of the bow in accordance with its ancient and

honorable traditions;

7. To recognize the National Field Archery Association, hereafter referred to as

N.F.A.A., as a parent organization, and abide by all the rules and regulations as set

forth in the Constitution and Bylaws and policy which govern the activities of the

N.F.A.A.

1. Any person wishing to become a member of the N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A. can do so by

submitting a membership application with the applicable fees to the State Secretary;

2. Each new member shall receive a copy of the Constitution;

3. A six-(6) week membership in the N.B.H.A. is required to be able to vote. Also, the

member voting shall have reached his/her eighteenth (18th) birthday;

4. Any person wishing to become an Associate Member of the N.B.H.A. can do so by

submitting a membership application with the applicable fees to the State Secretary.

An Associate Member will be eligible to have their game entered in our Game

Register. This member would have all rights in the N.B.H.A., with the exception of

shooting in tournaments which require the N.F.A.A. handicap classification card.

They would be eligible to compete in the Bowhunter Jamboree. They would not be

eligible for anything affiliated with the N.F.A.A.;

5. Honorary membership, with exemption from regular fees and dues, may be granted

for exceptional merit and service to the sport of Archery, upon the recommendation

of the Executive Committee, only in the state organization, the N.B.H.A.;

6. A lifetime N.B.H.A. membership will be available to all regular members. Life

Membership with exemption from regular fees and dues may be granted to head of

household, wives, and children under 18 upon payment per following schedule:

i. Head of Household $150.00

ii. Head of Household (over 65) 50.00

iii. Spouse 25.00

iv. Children under 18 (each) 25.00

When children under 18 reach the age of 18, they will have to pay the

balance of $125.00, or if they choose, start paying yearly dues. The fees can

be paid quarterly in four (4) equal payments; however, total fee must be paid

within a twelve-(12) month period. Wives and children fees do not apply if the

Head of Household fees are not paid.

7. The Executive Committee may suspend any member, who, in their opinion, is guilty

of acts unbecoming a sportsman, or who has brought discredit to himself or Archery

through his actions. The Executive Committee shall also file minutes of their actions

and decisions with the Secretary of N.B.H.A. and N.F.A.A. per N.F.A.A. Constitution,

Article III - Membership, Paragraph A, Section 8.

Secretary/Treasurer, Nevada Director for the NFAA, Associate Director, Target

in accordance with the following provisions: At least sixty (60) days prior to the

N.B.H.A. Bowhunter Jamboree Championship, the Secretary/Treasurer shall send

out a notice that nominations are in order and all nominees will be advised of their

nominations by the Secretary/Treasurer.

5. The names of the persons nominated for the various offices of the N.B.H.A. must be

in writing and in possession of The Secretary/Treasurer of the N.B.H.A. forty-five

(45) days preceding the N.B.H.A. Bowhunter Jamboree Championship. Each

nominee must be a member in good standing of the N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A. with the right

to vote. Any nomination received after this deadline will not be accepted.;

6. The Secretary/Treasurer shall confirm all nominations and then place these names

on ballots and mail each member, in good standing with voting rights, one ballot.

These shall be sent no later than thirty (30) days preceding the N.B.H.A. Bowhunter

Jamboree Championship;

Secretary/Treasurer no later than 14 days preceding the N.B.H.A. Bowhunter

Jamboree Championship.

8. Each member of the N.B.H.A., who is eligible to vote, may either mail their ballot to

the Secretary/Treasurer, or bring the ballot in person to the N.B.H.A. Bowhunter

Jamboree Championship.

9. On the date of the N.B.H.A. Bowhunter Jamboree Championship, the President shall

appoint a committee of three (3) impartial persons to count the ballots. They, in turn,

shall report their findings to the President, who shall declare the persons receiving

the majority of the votes as elected to the respective offices of the N.B.H.A. The

reconfirmed or new appointments made at this time;

10. The term of office for all elected officers including the Club Representatives will be

two (2) years.

affiliate club shall choose a member to fill that vacancy for the unexpired term. In

the event the office of President should be vacated, the Vice President would

assume that office.

12. When a officer of the Executive Committee repeatedly fails to perform their duties,

phone calls have not been returned and a registered letter has had no response for

at least 2 weeks, the Executive Committee shall appoint a N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A.

member in good standing to fill that position for the unexpired term.

1. Subject to the provisions of this Constitution, and such action as may be taken from

time to time by the N.B.H.A., the Executive Committee shall control and manage the

activities, policies, and property of the N.B.H.A.;

2. The Executive Committee shall meet at the call of the President whenever possible

and deemed necessary; but not less than twice (2) in one year. Once shall be at the

N.B.H.A. Bowhunter Jamboree Championship; and a mid-winter meeting, the date

and place to be set by the Executive Committee. It shall require at least thirteen (13)

members of the Executive Committee to constitute a quorum. In those cases

deemed necessary by the President, decisions may be made by a mail vote;

3. In those events in which one of the Directors is unable to attend an Executive

Committee meeting, alternates, as selected by the Executive Committeemen from

that region, are acceptable if the alternate is a member in good standing of the

N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A.

1. Any changes to the N.F.A.A. Constitution regarding the term of office, election, etc.,

for the N.F.A.A. Director will automatically be adhered to by the N.B.H.A.;

2. The Nevada Director for the N.F.A.A. shall be an officer of the Executive Committee.

The fiscal year of the N.B.H.A. shall start on the same date as the installation of new

officers.

The N.B.H.A. will have a memorial scholarship fund for the furtherance of education of

N.B.H.A. members. The fund will be established from donations and supplemented from

the N.B.H.A. general fund. The fund will be used for those individuals who have made

contributions to the sport of archery and are likely to make contributions in the future.

Disbursements from this fund will be made with the approval of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Committee will review all applications for scholarships and may choose to

award funds based on the needs of the individual. The Executive Committee shall take the

financial situation of the N.B.H.A., at the time of application, into consideration before any

funds are approved.

1. This Constitution may be altered or amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of

the ballots returned by the N.B.H.A.membership. Any alterations or amendments

must be presented to the Secretary/Treasurer in writing, through the Executive

Committee, who may present the same to the membership by secret ballot for their

consideration and vote;

2. All ballots are to remain unopened until the Tabulating Committee meets to count

them;

3. A three (3) member Tabulating Committee appointed by the President will count the

ballots and report the results to the Executive Committee.

Upon adoption of this Constitution by two-thirds (2/3) of the ballots returned, the

Secretary/Treasurer shall, as soon as possible, mail a copy of the same to the Executive

Secretary of the N.F.A.A. and to the Southwest Sectional Councilman of the N.F.A.A. for

their approval. Upon their approval, this Constitution shall become the official document of

rules and regulations of the N.B.H.A. This approval will be required in writing as part of the

record or the N.B.H.A.

Upon adoption of the Constitutional Change approved by members in June of 2010 and

the associated By-law changes approved at Mid-winter meeting in Janunary of 2011, the

following procedure will ensure the transition to a new structure:

1. elections in June 2011 will select officers for the new structure.

2. 2010-2011 officers, newly elected officers, and newly elected club representatives shall

meet together at summer meeting in June 2011 when new officers are installed.

a. The President shall preside at all meetings of the Executive Committee and

business meetings of the N.B.H.A.; confirm all committee appointments made

by Associate Director and Target Director; appoint and chair the annual Audit

Committee; and be responsible for initiating and developing activities of the

Executive Committee, which will accomplish the purposes of the Association.

He/she shall not vote except in the case of a tie in the voting of the Executive

Committee. Robert's Rules of Order shall be used as a guideline.

b. He/She shall have the authority to make binding decisions for the N.B.H.A. in

regards to matters pertaining to hunting seasons and regulations handed

down from the Fish and Game. He/She will be able to act on these matters

when there is not adequate time to contact all members of the Executive

Committee, but when there is time this shall be done.

c. There will be a representative designated by the President at the meetings

pertaining to the setting of hunting seasons by Fish and Game. Airfare and/or

mileage and up to $150.00 expenses will be paid to the person attending

these meetings unless they live within a 75-mile radius of the meeting place.

a. The Vice President will preside in the President's absence.

b. The Vice President shall act as a liason between Bowhunting and Target

interests within NBHA

c. He/She will be responsible for the revolving trophies and awards of all state

events and Chairman of the Trophy Committee.

a. Shall keep all records of the N.B.H.A. and minutes of the Executive

Committee meetings and provide each member of the Executive Committee

with the minutes of such meetings.

b. He/She shall inform the membership of official actions, and shall see to it that

each member of the Executive Committee, general membership, and new

members receive a current copy of the Constitution.

c. Shall solicit membership to both the N.B.H.A. and N.F.A.A.

d. Shall receive all monies of the N.B.H.A.; shall handle all expenditures of the

N.B.H.A. as authorized by the Executive Committee; shall keep an accurate

record and accounts of all transactions; shall present his/her financial

statement at the mid-winter Executive Committee meeting and at the end of

the Fiscal Year; and shall in general perform the duties incidental to the office.

e. He/She will also be responsible for the N.B.H.A. Newsletter published as

required.

f. He/She will have a vote in Executive Committee actions.

a. The Associate Director shall serve as the liason between the Associate

members and NBHA.

b. Shall appoint standing and special committees associated with all Bowhunting

activities of NBHA.

c. The Associate Director shall be responsible for Bowhunting programs of

NBHA including

i. Bowhunting Awards

ii. Bowhunting Records

iii. Bowhunter Education

iv. Bowhunter Defense

a. The Target Director or his/her appointee shall be responsible for all

tournaments as established in the By-laws of the NBHA.

b. The Target Director or his/her appointee shall be responsible for all target

acquisitions, maintenance, and distribution.

c. Shall appoint standing and special committees associated with all tournament

and target activities of NBHA.

a. Shall represent the N.B.H.A. at NFAA Sectional and national Meetings.

b. N.B.H.A. will pay airfare and up to $150.00 in expenses for the N.F.A.A.

Director to attend a maximum of two (2) N.F.A.A. and/or Sectional meetings

per year.

c. The NFAA Director or his/her appointee shall head-up all protest committees

at all N.B.H.A. sponsored shoots.

d. The NFAA Director will be responsible for providing the N.B.H.A. Secretary

with pertinent changes passed at NFAA National and Sectional Meetings for

publication to the members.

a. Shall represent all members of the N.B.H.A

b. Shall serve on the Executive Committee

c. Shall participate in tournament production, Executive Committee meetings,

and serve as appointed on committees to further the work of NBHA.

a. Shall represent all members of the N.B.H.A

b. Shall serve as a liason between NBHA and the club which they represent.

a. This position is appointed by the Associate Director and must be confirmed by

the President. This person must be an N.B.H.A. member and in good

standing.

b. He/She will be responsible for the scoring and recording of the Bowhunting

Records of Nevada and the Nevada Bow Hunters Association Game

Register.

c. He/She will be allowed to vote on items pertaining to the Bowhunting Records

of Nevada and the Nevada Bow Hunters Association Game Register.

d. May appoint N.B.H.A. members as N.B.H.A. measurers for Bowhunting

Records of Nevada Book and N.B.H.A. Game Register. Maintains list of

N.B.H.A. measurers.

e. See Addendum I for qualifications for the Bowhunting Records of Nevada.

a. This position is appointed by the Associate Director and must be confirmed by

the President. This person must be an N.B.H.A. member and in good

standing.

b. He/She will be responsible for all Bowhunting Programs and Awards as

established in the Bylaws by the Executive Committee working in conjunction

with the Bowhunting Chairman.

a. This will be appointed by the president and this person must be an N.B.H.A.

member and in good standing.

b. He/She will be the Bowhunting Committee Chairman and will be in charge of

the Bowhunting Committee which will be responsible for overseeing all

Bowhunting issues.

c.

a. The Executive Committee will approve and administer the activities and

financial expenditures of the N.B.H.A.

b. Any team representing N.B.H.A. at a shoot will be sanctioned by the

Executive Committee.

1. Annual dues to the N.F.A.A./N.B.H.A. will be $47.00 ($35.00-N.F.A.A., $12.00-

N.B.H.A.) for the first person membership. Annual dues for Young Adult, Youth, and

Cub membership as a single individual shall be $22.00 ($15.00-N.F.A.A., $7.00-

N.B.H.A.).

2. Fees and dues for the second and third family members shall be $10.00 each

($5.00-N.F.A.A.,

3. $5.00-N.B.H.A.) (Second family member - $57.00, third family member - $67.00).

Additional family members shall be $2.00 additional each member (NFAA only).

4. Annual fees to the N.F.A.A./N.B.H.A. for club/shop charter renewal shall be $30.00

($25.00 - N.F.A.A.,

5. $5.00 - N.B.H.A.).

4. Initial fees to the N.F.A.A/N.B.H.A. for new club/shop charter shall be $30.00 ($25.00

- N.F.A.A., $5.00 - N.B.H.A.)

5. Annual dues to the N.B.H.A. for an Associate membership will be $15.00 for the first

family member, $5.00 for the second family member, and $5.00 for the third family

member. Additional family members shall be free. Due and payable July 1st of

each year.

6. Any member delinquent in the payment of fees and dues shall not be eligible for

trophies or awards of the N.F.A.A. and/or N.B.H.A. Delinquency is judged to be

thirty (30) days after a member's dues expiration date. N.F.A.A./N.B.H.A. members

are notified sixty (60) days prior to their expiration date. The N.B.H.A. Secretary

shall notify Associate Members thirty (30) days prior to their expiration date.

7. Fees for the annual tournaments shall be set by the Executive Committee.

8. Elected Executive Committee members who travel for the annual mid-winter

business meeting will receive a $150.00 reimbursement fee for travel and lodging

expenses. The N.F.A.A. Director will also receive the $150.00 reimbursement. Club

representatives may, at the club’s discretion, receive reimbursement for travel from

the club they represent.

9. Secretary/Treasurer shall be reimbursed a maximum of $600.00 per year for

expenses incurred during the year, reimbursement to take place during the midwinter

meeting and be voted upon by the Board.

d. Bowhunter Jamboree

e. Sagebrush Classic (Traditional Tournament)

a. Prior to registration the Tournament Chairman will appoint one (1) person to

check each participant's equipment in accordance with N.F.A.A. rules.

b. A family fee has been established by the N.B.H.A. The first and second adult

members of a family shall pay full price, other second and third members onehalf

the full price; all others shall be admitted without further charge. All persons

eighteen (18) or older shall pay the full fee.

c. Anyone not registered for the first day of a two-day shoot shall pay the full fee to

shoot the second day. Those people registered and unable to make the first day

will be allowed to shoot the second day, and there will be no refunds. This will

also apply to guests. Competitors must shoot both days to be eligible for

awards.

d. Fees for All Tournaments

i. Fees for the State Indoor Mail-In Tournament, the NBHA Marked Yardage

3-D Tournament and State Outdoor Tournament will be $20 for adults and

young adults, $12 for youths, seniors and master seniors. Cubs and Pee

Wees shoot free. Non-member fees are $20, but they are not eligible for

awards. The family fees outlined in Article IV, Section 2, Paragraph B

apply. The host club or indoor shooting range may charge their own

additional fees for use of facilities and equipment. The Executive

Committee will establish fees for pre-registration and late (on-site)

registration for the Bowhunter Jamboree.

ii. Participants who have pre-registered and are then unable to attend a

tournament must apply in writing to the Secretary/Treasurer for a

registration fee refund.

e. The Tournament Chairman in charge of conducting the tournament will make all

decisions pertaining to the tournament in accordance with N.F.A.A./N.B.H.A

rules/guidelines.

f. The highest score in each style, male, female, young adult and youth will be the

First Place Winner at the State Indoor Mail-In Tournament, the State NBHA

Marked Yardage Tournament, State Outdoor Tournament and the Bowhunter

Jamboree.

g. Participants must complete the full round to be eligible for awards.

h. Participants must be a paid-up member and in good standing to be eligible for

N.F.A.A. and/or N.B.H.A. awards.

j. Only bonafide state members of the N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A. shall be eligible to win

awards at State Tournaments. An individual cannot win state awards in another

state.

k. Any non-member or Associate Member may participate in a NFAA sanctioned

tournament by paying the full member fee, but will not be eligible for any State

awards. Associate Members are eligible for awards in the Jamboree.

a. The annual State Indoor Mail-In Tournament shall be conducted by the

Executive Committee in locations designated by that committee; in at least two

(2) areas (North and South). The results of this tournament are to be

determined by mail through the N.B.H.A. Secretary/Treasurer. This shoot date

is to be set by the executive committee. All clubs must send in the shoot dates,

times, and name of shoot official to the secretary/treasurer at least two weeks

prior to the shoot. All scorecards must be delivered to the Secretary/Treasurer

no later than two weeks after the shoot.

b. If any club cannot attend the tournament as scheduled by the Executive

Committee in their area, because of weather or distance, they may conduct their

own tournament in accordance with paragraph A. If any club cannot locate a

place to shoot the tournament indoors, it may conduct the tournament outdoors.

However, if an indoor location is feasible, the tournament must be held indoors.

Permission to hold the tournament is subject to approval by the Executive

Committee.

c. The round to be used will be determined by the executive committee. Members

will be notified after the Mid-Winter meeting as to the round selected.

d. Before targets are issued to a club for the mail-in tournament, a Tournament

Chairman must be established. The Tournament Chairman must be in good

standing with the N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A. The Tournament Chairman will order

targets through the State Secretary/Treasurer at least two weeks prior to the

tournament date.

e. All N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A. tournament rules will be adhered to. You must be a paidup

member of the N.B.H.A./N.F.A.A. to compete for awards. If you are not a

member and wish to join, you may do so at the tournament by filling out an

application and paying the first year dues in accordance with the dues schedule.

f. Peewees (seven [7] years and under) will shoot ten (10) yards.

g. A shooter can shoot more than one style. However, it must be shot with

separate equipment, on a separate occasion, and with an additional fee paid.

The style must be declared when registering and the round completed, or scored

incomplete. You may not shoot the same style more than once.

h. Awards for members

i. First, second, and third place winners in all styles will receive an awards

as approved by the Executive committee, in accordance with the NFAA

Flight System

ii. All participants must complete the full round to be eligible for awards.

iii. Awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Ceremony and Banquet

on Saturday night of the Bowhunter Jamboree.

a. The N.B.H.A. shall conduct an annual State Outdoor Tournament. The

tournament shall commence on a weekend to be set.

b. This tournament shall be organized and conducted by the host club under the

supervision of the N.B.H.A. and the Tournament Chairman appointed by the

President. Shooting rules, scoring, and general rules and regulations shall be

the same as those established by the N.F.A.A. Decisions on questions shall be

settled by the Tournament Committee.

c. Any club affiliated with the State Association may bid to host the State Outdoor

Championship at an Executive Board meeting of the N.B.H.A. The Executive

Committee shall award the bid to the club best suited to host the tournament.

The bid shall be in writing as a record for the Executive Committee.

d. The club receiving permission to host the N.B.H.A. State Outdoor Championship

shall supply the range, refreshments and food, and shall derive any profits there

from.

e. The N.B.H.A. will be responsible for pre-registration, registration, target

assignment, posting scores, and flighting for the State Outdoor Tournament.

f. The club hosting the State Outdoor Tournament will be responsible for placing

the targets on the range.

g. Any club hosting the State Outdoor Tournament will not be allowed to hold their

club championship in conjunction with the State Outdoor Tournament.

h. The N.B.H.A. shall furnish all trophies, awards, target faces, and collect all

registration fees as set by the Executive Committee. The N.B.H.A. shall furnish

all pre-registration and registration forms, scorecards, and such items as

established by the Executive Committee.

i. The annual State Outdoor Tournament must be held on an N.F.A.A. approved

course. The classes will be determined from the Field and Hunter scores on

your N.F.A.A. handicap card. (See Article III, 2. A).

j. The shoot will consist of twenty-eight (28) Field, fourteen (14) Animal, and

twenty-eight (28) Hunter targets. All participants will be required to shoot the

same targets for score.

k. All participants will start shooting at the same time. There will be no exceptions.

l. Awards for members

i. First, second, and third place winners in all styles will receive an awards

as approved by the Executive committee, in accordance with the NFAA

Flight System

ii. All participants must complete the full round to be eligible for awards.

iii. Awards will be presented at the Annual Awards Ceremony and Banquet

on Saturday night of the Bowhunter Jamboree.

a. The N.B.H.A. shall conduct an annual State Marked Yardage Tournament. The

tournament shall commence on a weekend to be set.

b. The tournament shall be organized and conducted by the host club under the

supervision of the N.B.H.A. and the Tournament Chairman appointed by the

President. The host club can use 3-D animal targets, paper targets or a

combination of animal and paper targets. The format is 2 arrows per target and

scoring is 11-10-8. The host club will set the targets, shooting rules and

regulations. All N.F.A.A. styles will be applied.

c. Any club affiliated with N.B.H.A. may bid to host the State Marked Yardage

Tournament at an Executive Board meeting of the N.B.H.A. The Executive

Committee shall award the bid to the club best suited to host the tournament.

Preferably, if the State Outdoor Tournament is awarded to one end of the State,

the State Marked Yardage Tournament will be awarded to the other end of the

State.

d. The club receiving permission to host the NBHA Marked Yardage Tournament

shall supply the range, refreshments and food. They shall derive any profits

there from.

e. The host club many run the State Marked Yardage Tournament in conjunction

with their own marked yardage shoot. In-other-words, this can be two shoots in

one as at the Western Trail Shoot in Redding, California.

f. The host club will collect $20 for adults and young adults, $12 for youths seniors,

and master seniors. Cubs and peewees shoot free. The host club can charge its

own additional fees.

g. The host club will be given a N.B.H.A. membership list prior to the shoot. A

shooter must be a paid-up member of the N.B.H.A. to compete for awards. If

you are not a member and wish to join, you may do so at the tournament by

filling out an application and paying the first year dues in accordance with the

dues schedule.

h. The host club will send the N.B.H.A. Secretary/Treasurer a list of all participants,

by style, gender and age, with scores and fees collected within 2 weeks after the

shoot.

i. Awards for members

i. First, second, and third place winners in all styles will receive an awards

as approved by the Executive committee, in accordance with the NFAA

Flight System

ii. All participants must complete the full round to be eligible for awards.

iii. Awards will be presented at the Annual Ceremony and Banquet the

Saturday night of the Bowhunter Jamboree._

a. The Bowhunter Jamboree, will be conducted by the Executive committee on the

third or last weekend of June, as not to conflict with the N.F.A.A. Southwest

Outdoor Sectional. This will be a two-day shoot. On Saturday night there will be

an awards ceremony for the State Indoor Mail-In Tournament, the NBHA Marked

Yardage Tournament and the State Outdoor Tournament.

b. The Bowhunter Jamboree will adhere to N.F.A.A. styles, equipment and rules.

c. There will be forty (40) animal targets on Saturday and twenty-five (25) animal

targets on Sunday.

d. Participants will start with a staggered shoot on Saturday and on Sunday the

shoot will start at 8 a.m. All shooters start at the same time on Sunday on an

assigned target.

e. On the second day of shooting, top competitors will be regrouped as follows: the

top men, women, young adults and youth shooters in each style will shoot in

their own groups.

f. The Executive Committee is responsible for setting registration fees, setting up

the course, conducting the shoot, settling disputes, registration, making target

assignments the second day and presenting awards.

g. Awards for members:

i. First, second, and third place winners in all styles will receive awards as

approved by the Executive committee.

ii. All cubs and peewees will be presented their awards at the awards

ceremony banquet on Saturday night since they only shoot the first day of

the tournament. All remaining cubs and peewees will receive awards.

a. All game awards given will be for the recording period of January 1 to December

31 of the preceding year. The cutoff date for applying for Big Game awards will

be March 31. All applicants must be N.B.H.A. members in good standing at the

time of harvest. All applications should be sent to the Bowhunting Chairman

b. Awards

i. The Doc Holmes Award is awarded for the highest scoring deer taken in

Nevada.

1. All applicants should submit a Pope & Young score sheet that has

been completed by a Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young,

Nevada Wildlife, or NBHA (as appointed by the Bowhunting

Records Chairman) measurer.

2. Since this is a revolving trophy it will be returned to the Vice-

President two months before the next Bowhunter Jamboree.

3. A permanent plaque and patch will also be awarded at this time to

replace the trophy when it is returned for the next year’s winner.

ii. The George Craft Award is awarded to the highest scoring deer taken

out-of-state.

1. All applicants should submit a Pope & Young score sheet that has

been completed by a Boone and Crockett, Pope and Young,

Nevada Wildlife, or NBHA (as appointed by the Bowhunting

Records Chairman) measurer.

c. Big Game Awards

i. Any N.B.H.A. member who takes a big game animal during the recording

period preceding the Bowhunter Jamboree is eligible to receive an

N.B.H.A. Big Game Award certificate. Members should submit their name

and game taken to the Bowhunting Chairman prior to the March 31 cut-off

date in order to receive this certificate.

ii. For the Nevada Bow Hunters Association Game Register, any animal that

is included in Pope & Young measurements must be measured according

to their methods. There will be no deduction for rack in velvet. For tie

scores between a velvet and polished rack, the polished rack shall

prevail. Javelina will be scored by the Arizona method and any other

animal not covered by Pope & Young will be recorded by the California

method. All trophies must be submitted on an official N.B.H.A.

recognized score sheet. Female species will be recognized for

certificates with a Pope & Young fair chase affidavit.

iii. N.B.H.A. Big Game plaques will be awarded to those members who out

score the first place in the Nevada Bow Hunters Association Game

Register. The engraved plaque shall read "N.B.H.A Big Game Record".

d. The winner of the Blind Bogie drawing will receive $100 and must be present at

the awards ceremony to win.

e. Bowhunter of the Year

i. Complete the required and updated application.

ii. Contest will begin on January 1 and end on December 31. The award, a

silver belt buckle, cost not to exceed $250.00, will be given out at the

Bowhunter Jamboree.

iii. Applications should be sent to the Bowhunting Chairman prior to the cutoff

date of March 31.

f. Youth Bowhunter of the Year

i. Age 17 and under

ii. An application has to be submitted with an essay to be eligible

iii. A panel of 3 judges (2 NBHA Board Members and one NBHA member)

will evaluate the essays and make the selection.

iv. The award will be a silver belt buckle, cost not exceed $250.00; will be

give out at the Bowhunter Jamboree.

a. The NBHA All-Around Champion in each style, male and female, all age groups

will be determined by the highest combined points from the State Indoor Mail-In

Tournament, NBHA Marked Yardage Tournament, State Outdoor Tournament

and Bowhunter Jamboree. Points are based upon the following placement in

each tournament: Place Points

Those participants tied after the conclusion of the Bowhunter Jamboree will have a

shoot-off at an unmarked 3-D animal target. The arrow closes to the center of the

12 spot will be the winner. In case this target is tied, a second unmarked 3-D

animal target will be shot. If necessary, additional targets will be shot until a winner

is determined.

b. A participant for the NBHA All-Around must be a paid-up member of N.B.H.A.,

complete at least 3 N.B.H.A. shoots for that year, and be in good standing to be

eligible. Participants must declare the style for the N.B.H.A. All-Around at the

first shoot completed.

c. The awards will be presented at the conclusion of the Bowhunter Jamboree.

The Bylaws may be altered or amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Executive

Committee. Any amendments or alterations to the Bylaws will be recorded and made

permanent records.

A new copy of the Constitution and Bylaws may be obtained by writing the State

Secretary and submitting a $1.00 fee to cover the cost of printing.

The annual membership dues will be paid each year unless there is a problem to be

brought up at the mid-winter meeting. These dues expire each year in December.

1. Recognize only animals harvested in Nevada for record book entry (typical mule deer,

non-typical mule deer, typical elk, non-typical elk, mountain goat, desert sheep,

California Nelson sheep subspecies, Rocky Mountain sheep, antelope, and mountain

lion).

2. Set minimum scores for entry.

3. Boone & Crockett, Pope & Young, Nevada State, and N.B.H.A. measurers (as

appointed by the Bowhunting Records Chairman) may score animals for entry.

4. Print a new record book as cost, demand, etc., permits.

5. A state record will be the outstanding animal of each group and will stand until a larger

specimen is collected. State records should be panel scored.

6. No small game category will be established at this time.

a. Obtain the use of a facility (Elks, Lions, VFW, Convention Center, etc.) for the

meeting. Secretary has a list of points-of-contact.

b. Obtain awards. The Executive Committee makes arrangements for the

necessary plaques, patches, trophies, and medallions.

c. Numbered stubs are assigned to all adult N.B.H.A. members who participate in

the Jamboree. A number is drawn at the Awards Meetings and that individual is

the Blind Bogie Winner. See Article III, 5., I., 2., d).

d. If a meal is to be purchased, make arrangements with a local organization

(Firemen, Elks, Lions, VFW, etc.) on a menu(s) and cost per person.

e. A raffle will be held on Saturday night at the dinner. The Executive Committee

will be responsible for obtaining items for the raffle

f. Make arrangements for entertainment, if desired.

a. N.B.H.A. awards are presented.

b. Doc Holmes revolving trophy will be presented to current year’s winner and a

plaque will be presented to previous year's winner.

c. George Craft revolving trophy will be presented to current year’s winner and a

plaque will be presented to previous year's winner.

d. Big Game Plaque for people taking a big game animal during the recording

period which outscores the first place animal in the N.B.H.A. Big Game Register.

e. N.B.H.A. Big Game Certificates. If the Associate Director in charge does not

wish to type these, he/she can work with the Bowhunting Records Chairman, get

the names and game taken, and contact the Secretary for typing. The Secretary

or Records Chairman also has blank certificates. Refer to Bylaws Article III, 5.,

I., 2., c., 1.

f. N.B.H.A. Bowhunter of the Year award is presented. Refer to Bylaws Article III,

5., I., 3.

a. Practice butts are stored with the animals. Members may use their personal

practice butts.

b. The Secretary has point-of-contact for animal storage

c. Arrangements must be made for portable toilets. The Secretary has point-ofcontact.

d. Arrangements must be made for lunch to be served during the shoot.

e. Targets can be set up Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning. Course will

be changed every year.

f. Stakes are stored with the targets. Stake and target placement will be inspected

for safety.

g. Targets, stakes, and garbage are to be picked up by the last group of archers

shooting their last target on Sunday.

h. Refer to the Bylaws, "Rules and Regulations for Conducting the N.B.H.A.

Bowhunter Jamboree Championship", for additional details.

1. Solicit volunteers to set up the Team Shoot Saturday morning before

the Tournament begins. Teams may consist of (1) a Bowhunter and pin

style shooter with names drawn from these two (2) groups, or (2) a

three member team formed by drawing names and assigning a

handicapping factor to each style. The format will be determined by the

Executive Committee prior to the Jamboree. Entry fees will be paid to

form each team.

2. Solicit volunteers to sell raffle tickets before the tournament begins and

after tournament and at the Awards Dinner prior to the actual raffle.

3. Awards will be presented to the winners of the shoot.

4. Make arrangements for help to return the targets, stakes, and practice

butts to the storage area.

a. checklist of "Lessons Learned" for the N.B.H.A. Bowhunter Jamboree

Championship will be completed each year by the person who manages the

shoot in order to see what changes may be needed and any problems that may

have occurred. The checklist should be submitted to the Secretary for inclusion

on the agenda at next year's Mid-Winter Meeting.

b. Targets will be checked for replacement and/or repair before returning to

storage.
